We received some nice media coverage over the weekend from the Sunday Mail:
As the race intensifies to clinch the NRL’s 17th licence, CQ chief executive Denis Keeffe revealed the northern consortium wants North Queensland prop Scott to be their inaugural captain.
The NRL aspirants also want to pilfer talent from the Brisbane Broncos, with assistant Anthony Griffin heading a hit list of coaching candidates.
Mindful of building the club from the ground up with a local flavour, Central Queensland will also set its sights on Origin star Taylor, who is from Blackwater.
Scott’s deal with the Cowboys expires at the end of 2013, putting CQ firmly in the frame to snare the prop, who is from Ilfracombe, 680km west of Rockhampton.
