The players were presented with a comprehensive package containing a play book, code of conduct and core values, development programs, goal setting exercises, and other information including procedures, expectations and contacts as well as a full kit for travel, training and playing.

As well as physical testing and actual Rugby League training sessions the players were instructed on the code of conduct and provided with exercises  pertaining to contemporary issues in the game of Rugby League including respect for women, responsible use of social media, alcohol, drugs, bullying etc. CQ and International League legend, Matthew Sing presented the jerseys and spoke to the group about his life, and career. Matthew also talked about the personal pressures and expectations that accompany a professional athlete in today’s world.

“The very first CQ NRL Team will set the standard for the future of our club” – Walson Carlos, Program Manager
