CQ NRL Bid Supports Tour De Cure

The CQ NRL Bid has thrown its support behind a unique fundraising and cancer awareness promotion. Four local Central Queenslanders will embark on a 1500km bike ride from Biloela to Sydney Harbour Bridge that has been dubbed the “Bush to Bridge”

Before the CQ cyclists finish their marathon ride at the Sydney Harbour Bridge they will make a short detour to the recently opened NRL Central to meet with David Gallop and hand him the 40,000 petition signatures and an iconic gift from Central Queensland.

The keen cyclists who will embark on the journey are father and daughter team Gary and Naomi Latcham and married couple Don and Di Morris. All four cyclists are from Biloela.

The Tour de Cure approached the CQ NRL Bid for financial support for the ride and the CQ NRL Bid were only too happy oblige. “It is such a great cause and cancer is a terrible affliction on so many people’s lives. We are only too happy to help and be a part of this great initiative” CEO Denis Keeffe said.

Tour de Cure is a cycling foundation committed to finding a cure for cancer. Tour de Cure raises money to fund vital cancer research, support and prevention projects.

The “Bush to Bridge” ride starts for the four Tour De Cure cyclists in Biloela on Thursday, 5th April and they will arrive in Sydney at NRL Central later this month on the 20th April.
