Tickets for the CQ Capras first home game of the season at Browne Park have gone on sale today. The CQ Capras will take on the Mackay Cutters next Saturday night (16th February) in an annual grudge match that is certain to be an explosive way to start the footy season.

Local footy fans will be treated to a feast of rugby league with the U/16s Cyril Connell Cup and U/18s Mal Meninga Cup Capras and Cutters teams going head to head in curtain-raisers before the A-grade squads do battle in the main game.

The Mackay Cutters will bring a formidable line-up to Rockhampton with former Australian Kangaroos representative Joel Clinton leading the way in the front-row.

CQ Capras Head Coach Jason Hetherington said the trials would be a good chance for him to see his squad under the pressure of match conditions.

“The boys in the squad have been training hard to get their fitness levels up to the required standard to play Intrust Super Cup footy. They are chomping at the bit to get out there and have a crack in this upcoming trial. I expect it to be a great game to watch for fans with plenty of rivalry between the Capras and Cutters over the years.” Hetherington said.

CQ Capras Operations Manager Walson Carlos said ticket sales can be purchased from the Rockhampton Leagues Club reception or from the CQ Capras office at Browne Park.
