Junior Development Program
The CQ NRL Bid Junior Development Program is a highly innovative rugby league junior development program that is setting the foundations for the CQ NRL Team and developing young Central Queensland players to become better rugby league players and more importantly respected and valued members of the community. The 2012 CQ NRL Bid Junior Development is proudly sponsored by the JM Kelly Group, Boom Logistics, Inferno Sports, Vector Health and The Rock.
The CQ NRL Bid Junior Development Program was started in 2011 and will continue in 2012. Last year 21 players were chosen from all over CQ to participate in the Development Program. In 2012 these 21 players will be invited to be part of the program again with up to 9 new players forming a 30-man U/14s Squad.
In 2012 the U/13s Junior Development Squad will follow much the same pattern as last year’s Program with 20 players from all over CQ selected through a specialized scouting system.
The Junior Development Program will include 2-3 camps that will focus on holistically developing the young players with key focuses on player welfare training, contemporary athletic profiling, strength & conditioning training and rugby league skills and knowledge development.
Throughout the 3 camps the Junior Development Teams will travel away to play 2-4 games against the best U/13s and U/14s schoolboys sides in Queensland. The CQ NRL Bid Junior Development Program will continue to provide unprecedented opportunities for young players and coaching staff from the Central Queensland region to improve and progress themselves in rugby league.
