QR National Scholarship Program

About

The objective of the QR National Scholarship Program is to provide a subsidy to offset education costs for disadvantaged youth in Central Queensland. The QR National Scholarship Program will provide a direct linkage to the proposed REVS Academy that is currently being considered for funding by the Federal Government.

The QR National Scholarship Program will provide Yearly Scholarships to 5-10 disadvantaged youth in Central Queensland. The scholarships will incorporate a significant contribution towards the Scholarship Holders tuition and boarding fees. The selected youths will get the opportunity to attend Boarding Colleges and pursue sporting and academic excellence.

Scholarship Holders will also receive specialised education based on the NRL Player Welfare Education Programs but specifically modified to ensure it is age specific. Through the QR National Scholarship Program Scholarship Holders will receive financial assistance with not only schooling, but also with associated representative rugby league costs and rugby league gear such as boots and protective equipment.

One of the unique elements of the QRN Scholarship Program is the mentoring program that will see Scholarship Holders assigned a former NRL player based in CQ that will maintain regular contact with them and give them pertinent advice and guidance.
